It’s always a good week when we get to see our friend and inspiration Celina de Sola. In a noisy space in lower Manhattan where children of all backgrounds played together happily just off camera, we talked with Celina about the reality for children she works with in Central America.
Glasswing International is an incredible, innovative NGO: an El Salvador-based organization with a global perspective and a commitment to changing lives through empowerment, local solutions, and efficiency.
In the ten years since we first met her and were captivated by her vision, she has built Glasswing into an organization that has directed over $17 million dollars in funds to health and education within the region. Their work has touched over 600,000 lives.
She talked with us about the dire situation of gang violence in San Salvador, and how she continues to be optimistic in the face of a growing humanitarian crisis.
We often talk about how everyone we know is trying so hard to figure out how to change the world. Celina’s just doing it, day by day, life by life.
Please check out the amazing-ness that is Glasswing at www.glasswing.org and Glasswing El Salvador.
